OUCC Recommends Denial of AES Indiana’s Proposed 19% Rate Increase

Latest News,

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) has formally recommended denying AES Indiana’s request for a 19% rate increase. This recommendation, announced late yesterday, represents a significant step forward in protecting property owners and managers from substantial cost burdens.

AES Indiana now has the opportunity to submit rebuttal testimony, which is due by October 7, 2025. A final decision from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is expected in spring 2026.

We are especially grateful to our members who provided anonymous feedback about the financial hardships their properties would face under such a steep increase. Your input directly shaped our testimony and strengthened our case against the proposed rate hike.

While this recommendation is not yet the final decision, it is a very encouraging development in the ongoing process. We will continue to keep members updated on any new filings, hearings, or determinations as they occur.
