Course Overview

Environmental Health and Safety Issues explores best practices for building and managing an effective environmental health and safety (EHS) program. This course focuses on regulatory compliance and how environmental laws impact facility operations, helping participants reduce risk and maintain safe, compliant properties.

Participants will learn how to conduct site assessments, evaluate environmental risks, prepare for compliance audits, and plan for workplace emergencies. The course addresses key environmental concerns including hazardous materials, air and water quality, asbestos and lead hazards, storage tank management, and indoor environmental quality issues.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive EHS program using sustainable best practices

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations

  • Assess environmental risks and prepare for compliance audits

  • Plan for and respond to environmental health emergencies

  • Address indoor environmental quality issues such as air, water, mold, radon, asbestos, and lead
